Casio was founded in 1946 in Tokyo and is one of those companies whose name turns up on very different objects: calculators, watches, cameras and, since the eighties, musical instruments. In keyboards it has always held the same position, and held it well: the brand a great many people played their first notes on.
Its contribution goes beyond price. The Privia series brought the hammer-action digital piano into a light, affordable format that fits in a living room, and its learning keyboards remain the most common way into music at home and in the classroom.
At DJMania its catalogue splits between digital pianos — led by the Privia family, in cabinet and portable versions —, learning keyboards from the SA and CTK series for younger players, and the accessories that go with them: stands, benches and pedals.
It is the brand that solves the first piano at home without having to choose between sound, feel and budget.
