Manhasset is the world's best-known music stand manufacturer. The company was founded in 1935 by Otto Lagervall, a musician and inventor who developed his first stand in Manhasset (Long Island, New York), the town the brand is named after. Since the 1940s the company has been based, with all of its production, in Yakima (Washington, USA), and since the 1990s it has been owned by its own employees.
Its Symphony #48 model is the industry standard: the most widely used music stand in orchestras, bands, conservatoires and music schools around the world. Two details explain its reputation: the Magic-Finger Clutch system, which allows one-handed height adjustment with no screws or wing nuts to work loose, and the aluminium Scoop desk with a raised lip that holds sheet music firmly in place.
The Manhasset range covers every musician's needs: Symphony and Concertino (for seated players), the extra-wide Fourscore, the Regal and Grande conductor's stands, the model 53 series with clamp mounting for percussionists, the affordable stackable Harmony, plus accessories such as choral folders, floor protectors and transport carts for 12 or 25 stands.
Steel and aluminium construction built for decades of intensive use - the Manhasset stands bought for a classroom tend to outlast several generations of students. Made entirely in the USA.
