Arturia MiniFreak 49

The Arturia MiniFreak 49 is the 49 full-size key version of the MiniFreak hybrid synthesizer: 6-voice polyphony, two digital engines with more than 30 oscillator modes and an analog filter per voice. The same sound engine as the original MiniFreak, now with a semi-weighted keybed, aluminium pitch and modulation wheels and a larger OLED display.

The two engines combine Arturia's own algorithms with modes from Mutable Instruments and Noise Engineering: basic waves, wavetable, samples, FM/RM, physical modelling, speech, chords... and Engine 2 can process Engine 1. The signal then goes through analog state-variable filters (low-pass, band-pass and high-pass) with resonance up to self-oscillation and audio-rate Filter FM from either engine.

The pressure-sensitive XYZ touch matrix brings together modulation, macros, the visualizer and preset browsing, while Voice Panning spreads the six voices across the stereo field. To finish the sound there are 3 stereo FX slots with 13 algorithms each, including chorus, reverb, distortion, Super Unison and two vocoders.

For playing live it includes a 64-step sequencer with 4 modulation lanes and an arpeggiator with octave, ratchet, repeat, mutate and Spice & Dice, plus chord and scale modes. It is compatible with original MiniFreak presets and registered owners get the MiniFreak V plugin at no extra cost.
