Orange Outlowd ES3 Ed Sheeran

The Orange Outlowd ES3 is the smallest member of the ES Series, the acoustic amplification range Orange designed with Ed Sheeran. It packs 3 Watts RMS into a 17 cm cube weighing 1.44 kg, with a leather carry strap: it fits on a desk, in a backpack and in the corner where songs actually get written.

It is not about being loud, it is about making an acoustic guitar sound better than it does on its own. The built-in reverb adds space and decay, and the single Shape control opens or fills the midrange: clockwise scoops the mids for a brighter tone, anticlockwise pushes them forward and smooths the treble. Three knobs — Shape, Reverb and Volume — and no menus to learn.

Bluetooth 5.0 (aptX, AAC and SBC) turns it into a music speaker for playing along, learning a part or just listening. The 2000 mAh lithium battery gives up to 12 hours of playback and charges in about 3 hours from any USB-C adapter (not included), even with the amp switched off. The USB-C port also works as a USB audio interface.
