BOSS was born in 1973 as the effects division of Roland, and out of it came a format now taken as universal: the compact metal-bodied pedal, with its wide treadle and the thumbscrew for changing the battery. Half a century on, that chassis is still the de facto standard of pedalboards everywhere.
Its catalogue is full of pedals that became the reference for their category, starting with the DS-1 Distortion of 1978, one of the best-selling pedals in history and the starting point for a great many guitarists. The brand is a byword for gear that lasts: you stamp on it for years and it keeps working.
At DJMania you will find its effect pedals — delay, distortion, tremolo —, multi-effects boards and control and footswitch units such as the GA-FC, the odd valve combo, and the accessories everyone ends up needing, like the PSA-230S power supply, the most viewed product of the brand here.
If you build a pedalboard, sooner or later there is a BOSS box on it.
