Ortega Guitars was founded in 1994 in Germany with a clear idea: to bring together the tradition of Spanish luthiery with German precision and design, at a price that leaves nobody out. It operates from Gutenstetten, the same middle-Bavarian village that Meinl Percussion works from.
Its natural ground is the nylon string: classical and flamenco guitars built with selected woods — red cedar, German spruce, rosewood, mahogany — across the full range of sizes, from quarter and half scale for students to concert models. From there the brand has widened into ukuleles, acoustic basses, mandolins, banjos and percussion.
At DJMania its deepest range is acoustic and classical guitars, followed by a very complete line of soprano and concert ukuleles, electric guitars and all the house accessories: straps, picks and stands. A special mention for the HorseKick, its percussion pedal for keeping time with your foot while you play, one of the most viewed items of the brand.
It is the usual way into the Spanish guitar and the ukulele, without the first purchase being an expensive one.
